Syracuse once again confirms its status as a hub for experiential tourism and international events, thanks to the 18th Regatta of the prestigious ESCP Business School. This year, the event landed in the city of Syracuse with impressive participation numbers and a significant impact on the local area. Charter Syracuse:

The event, held on May 28, 29, 30, and 31, 2026, brought together more than 400 participants, including students, alumni, and young professionals from across Europe, all eager to enjoy a unique experience combining sport, education, and networking. Around 30 sailing yachts competed at sea, transforming the waters of Syracuse into a true floating international village.
A key factor in the success of the event was the contribution of Vega Charter, the official partner of Regatta XVIII. Part of the Quark Srl group, the nautical company stands out for its vision and its ability to combine tourism and sailing, perfectly reflecting its brand positioning. The company was founded by three young entrepreneurs from Syracuse — Giuseppe Ruggieri, Giuseppe Mortillaro, and Alessandro Damiata — with the goal of promoting and increasing international tourism in the city.
Thanks to Vega Charter’s organizational and logistical support, the ESCP Regatta was able to fully express its international character, further strengthening the connection between academic excellence and the local territory.
The selection of Syracuse as the host city for the eighteenth edition represents an important strategic opportunity for the city's tourism promotion. Its rich historical heritage, stunning coastline, and Mediterranean identity provide the ideal setting for an event that seamlessly combines sport, culture, and international networking.
The impact of the initiative extends far beyond the sailing competition itself. The Regatta generated significant tourist flows, international visibility, and new opportunities for the local economy, helping position Syracuse as a premier destination for high-profile nautical and university events.
With more than 400 participants, 30 sailing yachts, and the involvement of one of Europe’s most prestigious business schools, Regatta XVIII has established itself as a key event for the growth of international tourism in Sicily.
